Wednesday, November 9: The "Sun-Diamond Drop" in the safe house Sotheby's in Geneva. The yellow diamond, one of the largest in the world found last year in South Africa. It is a pear-shaped stone of 110.3 carats. The diamond will be auctioned on November 15.

The most expensive purse in the world, made by the House of Mouawad, was unveiled at the Dubai Mall. The heart-shaped purse is encrusted with more than 4,517 diamonds and includes 105 yellow and 56 pink ones.

Sotheby's Sells 10.99ct Pink Diamond for $11M

November 16, 2010, Sotheby's Geneva realized a world auction record price for any diamond and any jewel when it sold an exceptionally rare 24.78-carat, VVS2, fancy intense pink diamond of the purest, vibrant hue for $46,158,674 (€34.000.000).  Four bidders competed for the pink diamond, but the winning bid went to  Laurence Graff. Shortly after the sale,  Graff named the diamond "The Graff Pink" and stated:  "It is the most fabulous diamond I've seen in the history of my career and I'm delighted to have bought it."
