Nobody can deny that we are living in strange and somewhat difficult times at the moment due to the coronavirus. However, more and more places are opening up again. Slowly, but surely! After a while at home, you might be confused about where to go from here. And we totally get that. That's why we have gathered a top 5 of excursions to do in Amsterdam: coronaproof!

1. Cool off in the park

Amsterdam is filled with a lot of different parks. The most famous one? The Vondelpark. This park is located close to Royal Coster Diamonds and the Museum Quarter. You can take a stroll, go for a picnic or cool off in the kids’ paddling pool. With all the large trees you can relax in the shadow as well. As the largest and most popular park in Amsterdam, it has enough to offer. Already seen the Vondelpark and looking for a new place to be? You can also visit the Rembrandtpark or the Amstelpark.

2. Museums

For some time now, almost all the musea in Amsterdam opened their doors again. If you love history, art, and stories from the past, this excursion is the one for you. Amsterdam is famous for its many museums; with over 75 museums, there is enough to choose from! To make it a little easier, we highlighted the top 10 museums in Amsterdam. If diamonds are your cup of tea, you might want to start at the Diamond Museum. Not that we are biased 😉

Terrace Leidseplein

3. Terrace hopping

So it’s not completely the way it was before, but the terraces in Amsterdam are open for business again! You can choose from the terraces on the Leidseplein to the ones close to the Dam. The possibilities are endless. However, there are some rules. Even though there is no maximum number of visitors for the outside terraces, everyone does have to sit at a table, and the 1.5-meter distance applies to visitors who are not a family or from the same household.

Amsterdam Canals

4. Take a boat tour

What way to discover Amsterdam than through the many canals of the city? You can take a boat tour or just rent your private boat for you and your friends or family. A great option for a sunny day! But even if the weather isn’t perfect, there are boats that come with a rooftop. Win-win.
