The Museum Square is often the stage for all sorts of exhibitions. One of these exhibitions is the Delft Blue Canal Houses from Social Sculptures. Social Sculptures creates creative concepts and projects together with sheltered employment. The CanalHouseParade is a project to help people with poor job prospects from the learning company “Pantar”.
With this project, these people create 24 small mosaic houses, that are based on the famous Delft Blue KLM-houses. In this, these men and women gain work experience, grow personally and eventually find a job.
Leading companies in the tourist sector that have special bonds with canal houses, like Royal Coster, sponsor this cause. With this sponsorship, the job seekers create a house of that specific company. First, this house is displayed as a part of the exhibition and later auctioned. The revenue goes, of course, to the cause
