In 1926, the Swiss watchmaking company “Veuve de Philippe Hüther” registered the trademark “Tudor”. It was done on behalf of the founder of Rolex watches, Hans Wilsdorf. Ten years later, Wilsdorf took over and in 1946, he founded the company Montres Tudor SA.
Tudor is well-known for its tool watches, producing timepieces for professional divers and the military.
Over the years, Tudor has grown beyond the image of being Rolex’ ‘little brother’. It is an adored brand by younger generations. Especially models from the line “Tudor Black Bay”, which is a tribute to sixty years of Tudor diving history are beloved. Between the 1960’s and 1980’s, several navies equipped their Submariners divers like the US Navy to its elite SEALs, with Tudor watches.
